🫖 Spilling the Pilateas – Edition 19 Pilates Was Designed to Travel With You

As Memorial Day approaches and everyone starts shifting into summer schedules, vacations, long weekends, horse shows, and busy calendars, I always start hearing the same question:

“I’m going away… what should I do for my back?”

“Can you give me things to do while I travel?”

“I don’t want to lose my Pilates practice.”

My answer is always the same:

You are taking your Pilates practice with you.

Pilates was truly one of the first “do anywhere” methods for physical wellbeing. Long before fitness apps and online subscriptions, the mat work existed so you could practice anywhere with nothing but your body.

If you have enough room to lie down and move your arms and legs, you have enough space to do Pilates.

This time of year, I always start dialing everyone more into their mat practice because the mat teaches you something important: you don’t need the perfect setup to stay connected to your body.

Don’t have time for a full session? Fine.

Do the first five or six exercises and go.

Life getting hectic doesn’t mean the practice has to disappear entirely.

A short practice done consistently will always serve you more than waiting for the “perfect” time to do a full workout.

And honestly? This is why I always laugh a little when clients ask me for travel exercises because usually my response is:

“You do subscribe to my YouTube channel… right?” 😉

It’s all there already. Of course I’ll still send specific videos and recommendations, but truly — pick the ones that float your boat and move.

Need mobility? Great.

Need back work? Perfect.

Need a quick reset before riding or after sitting in a car all day? There’s something there for you.

And if you want more accountability while you travel, I can come with you too.

Either through YouTube practice-alongs or virtually.

I now offer both 30- and 60-minute virtual mat sessions, so even when summer gets chaotic, your practice doesn’t have to disappear.

The goal isn’t perfection.

The goal is to stay connected.
